Homeowner's Insurance Inspections

Trees

SIGNIFICANT branches (2 inches in diameter and greater) TOUCHING the roof OR trees leaning on the roof or structure should be marked as major. In addition, if a dead tree is close enough to the home that it could fall on the home and cause damage, there should be a major hazard indicated. However, if the tree is living and the branches are simply near or overhanging the roof at time of the inspection, they should be noted as a minor so we can notify the customer of the potential exposure in the future.
