Homeowner's Insurance Inspections

Other-Mobile-Manufactured Homes

There are questions on the mobile/manufactured home field form (as well as on the AAIR screen of the Tough book/Laptop) that request information regarding the home being skirted, being tied down and being located in a park. If the question regarding the skirting is not answered, the system is set up to trigger a major condition due to lack of skirting.

If the home has skirting, but has areas missing or damaged, still mark "yes" to skirting and then proceed to trigger the major by marking the Exterior Siding category - damaged/missing and making your comments.

If the question regarding the mobile/manufactured home being tied down is not answered, the system is set up to trigger a major condition for the home not being tied down. If the home is skirted and you can't tell if it's tied down, still mark that it is. The only time you will indicate that it ISN'T tied down is if you can actually SEE that it isn't or the customer tells you that it isn't.

Also, please look for a HUD plate affixed to the exterior of the MH and provide a photo if the plate is located. If no plate is seen, please make a comment explaining this.
