SIGNIFICANT fuel source from a forest connecting to the customer's home should be marked as a major condition concern. The home must have defensible space between the forest and the home itself.
Trees surrounding the home must have low lying branches trimmed up and there should not be a heavy accumulation of needles on the ground below the trees in combination with dense vegetation. The property should show maintenance of the vegetation, whether it is ornamental (man-planted) or natural, and the lack of maintenance in this area will warrant a major hazard to be marked.
